Summary

Ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in Business Development and Marketing within clinical trials company. Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of sales management experience, with successful track record and expertise in selling multimillion dollar, complex service programs to corporate clients. Knowledge of clinical development process with the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry is required. Proven track record in effectively developing sales and marketing strategies and delivering results both personally and through motivating others. Proven ability to lead a sales organization, with customer targets, sales strategies and plans, goal achievements, and results reporting. Depth of industry knowledge and business savvy to present credibility and expertise to clients. Have well developed leadership and influencing skills to motivate and develop sales and marketing professionals to achieve. Provide leadership with cross functional peers to gain confidence and obtain close cooperation in achieving results. Experience working in a global environment with sensitivity to cultural differences and varying regulatory and ethics board requirements. Ability to develop and nurture customer relationships locally, regionally, and globally. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills to effectively communicate clear vision and value proposition to potential customers.

Description (Roles & Responsibilities)

Provide primary leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of short-term and long-term sales plans, targets and analysis.

  • Lead and direct effort to develop relationships with target client companies; including taking personal responsibility for forging relationships at the highest level in major accounts and ensure that relationships are created at an appropriate level internally and within the account.
  • Manage business development staff for the Clinical Trials Division (CTD), which includes hiring, developing, directing and evaluating direct reports and ensuring the employment, retention, development and assessment of quality staff.
  • Oversee and lead the marketing initiative and internal staff and supervise relationship with outside company providing marketing services.
  • Develop tools to provide quantitative data to support the formulation of CTD’s business strategy and budgets.
  • Manage the Business Development and Marketing efforts, focusing on results.
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of all sales and marketing reports, summaries, future growth forecasts and general economic outlook analysis.
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget as well as compensation and incentive programs.
  • Function as a key team member in closing deals, maintaining personal involvement in CTD’s major clients and targets, training key extra-departmental staff to assist in the closing process and organizing their participation in critical Sponsor forums.
  • Meet with key clients on a regular basis and provide feedback to operations and senior management on client satisfaction. Ensure that appropriate processes are in place to address major issues impacting current and future business.
  • Implement appropriate selling methodologies and practices to foster a culture of sales excellence.
  • Work closely with Senior Management to build the partnership between the sales force and other functional areas within TKL Research to facilitate collaboration and a unified purpose.
