Education and Related Experience Requirements:
The position normally requires a DVM or equivalent qualification as an entry requirement plus additional working experience in anatomic/toxicological pathology. A PhD level scientist with extensive experience in toxicological pathology (minimum 10 years experience of reading regulatory toxicity studies) may also fulfill this position. This position is usually a progressive step from Pathologist (Level II).
Basic Purpose and Objective:
Conducts macroscopic and microscopic examinations of animal tissues from GLP and non-GLP regulatory toxicity studies. This will include tissues from a wide variety of laboratory animal species with study durations ranging from single dose/MTD to 2 year bioassays and an entire spectrum of regulatory study designs.
Job Responsibilities:

Functions as Study Pathologist on GLP and non-GLP regulatory toxicity studies

On-call for overseeing necropsies
3
Evaluates by light microscopy, tissues from animals on study
4
Analyzes pathological study data including identification of the cause(s) of death
5
Reports on macroscopic and microscopic pathological findings
6
Interacts with members of our interdisciplinary team, providing advice and interpretation on pathology issues as required
7
Interacts with clients (peer-review)
8
Performs any other duties as required or assigned.
